1960s (plus or minus) lamp shade. What do I call this.

    Any keywords for me? Drawing a blank on how to describe this lampshade.

    It's marked Verplex Essex Conn on the top, dating it to the 60's plus or minus a decade.

    What would you call the material on this? All I can think of is "rattan" which I don't think is right.

    Naw. It's split bamboo, looks like to me...very nicely done, too, as the shade appears to be very slightly conical. Using uniform splits, that's tricky geometry!

    Wow ! Did that "Light up" a memory ! My parents had two lamps with those... I have not thought about those in 40 plus years !!!!!!!!
