Another basement rescue. This time, a souvenir photo of my Dad’s Mom before she married. Meet the lovely Miss Zita Drinkwater :) I haven’t tried removing it from the frame; I’m not sure it would survive. The frame does say “made in Japan” on the back of the leg.

Do you know if the two images are a continuous sheet? Just thinking there might be a better way to frame the image to more completely show both surrounds, while reusing that frame for two other old family pictures.

    Cool imagery!

Oh, but it's the way she (or her family) displayed the photos shortly after they were taken. My vote is to leave as is. (Well enough alone.)

She looks like a real hoot ! I used to love St. Pete so much, but like everything in life, nothing stays the same. Last time i was there I barely recognized it. All of the charm and grace was long gone. No more old gents in seersucker jackets,no more old ladies in hats and gloves. Hell,no more old hotels for that matter ! Most torn down now. :(

Ditto. She wanted it to be like this, and as long as there is no other reason to alter it, leave it like this.
I can see mos' reason, the overlap of the frame over the surrounds, but the exposed parts have probably yellowed much more than the covered parts.
I think it looks wonderful like this anyway.

A St. Petersburg postcard, probably from the '50s:
