Featured 1930’s Monet Deco Brooch

I find lots of modern Monet jewellery, the gold and silver tone modern stuff but I think this piece is a rare beast.
The Monét stamp was used from 1937. Looking online I can’t find any with this back stamp to compare. Unfortunately the resource doesn’t tell me when they stopped using the mark but this screams Deco!
I wonder if anyone else has a piece with this early stamp on it? Is that clasp later? Maybe it is trying to look earlier than it is?

Looks late deco to me, gives off vibes of Ocean Drive and Studebakers.

 

The metal says Industrial Art Deco, but the pin could be early 50s instead of mid-30s, especially with the cobalt stone.

 

Hmm, that’s the conundrum isn’t it, true Art Deco or a late to the party wannabee!

 

Gut feel is 50s does 20s.

 

Hmmmm.....but that sawtooth setting....the patina....the "roughness: un finshed metal"...thinking late 30s. Not seeing ANYTHING like it googling. I think I have a big book on Monet jewelry, not home, will check later.

 

Just checked my Monet book and found jewelry similar to yours dated 1937. Congratulations! Notice the slight mark above the e on your piece- this was used in 1937.

 

The goldtone jewelry set is not showing back marks. The more detailed script-like Monet with the accent over the e is from a different piece, a fur clip. I do believe you have a 1930s brooch.

I've just remembered there's a Monet Facebook group. Duh.

 

Not a superstar, just have a lot of books. This is the book....not alot of 30s pieces in it.

I will search out that book. I’ve almost completely failed to find examples of early Monet.
I bought it from a dealer with lots of jewellery who said ‘It’s signed, it’s one of those Monkey ones’ I kept a very straight face and nodded politely
