More likely 1/10 or 1/20 12K. That was the usual metal for glasses back in the early 1900s.

People buy the frames to put their own lenses in.

Impossible to date, might have company stamp on the bridge. The same style was still made in the 1960/70's with gold filled frames.

Has anyone ever seen solid 12k? I’ve only ever seen 12k preceded by a fraction and/or a GF. Unless someone rubbed that part off intentionally which I have seen as well.

For sure! I actually meant solid 12k anything? Not just frames.

Hmm actually that rings a bell as being something maybe I have seen in 12k. I feel like most of the BHG I’ve seen has been 10k but maybe I’ve seen some 12. Outside of that I can’t recall seeing 12k though. I remember buying a 12k chain when I first got into gold. Something about it always struck me as off. After handling a lot more I came across it again and looked more closely. With a loupe I was able to see faint remnants of the GF mark that had been seemingly intentionally rubbed out. I only paid like $10-$15 for it but was annoyed that I didn’t catch it the first time and realize 12k isn’t common outside of GF.

How do you know that the BHG you looked at did not have 12K leaves? If the leaves were 12K and the ring shank was 10K,the ring could only be marked 10K.
