1920s wardrobe?

Hi everyone, I was wondering whether anyone could help me estimate the age of the wardrobe pictured. Being advertised online as from the 1920s, I was wondering how accurate this might be. Interesting to note that the back is stained a darker colour for some reason, and in the shot taken from inside the wardrobe, the back texture inside the frame looks very similar to plywood to me, but I haven't seen this piece in person and I know absolutely nothing about antiques, so I just wanted to get an opinion on its age to aid my purchasing decision. JMO. I suspect the item is a combo of old and new materials.

 

that's what I see......and it's in the basement, where someone had lots of time to work on their project !!!!!!

Hi Debora, it's in England, asking price is £795.

Seems common consensus is a mixture of old and new materials? I felt something wasn't quite right when looking at the back of the wardrobe, mirror shows signs of age, although I don't know what would have caused the strange lines going across the glass in one of the pics.

That is really interesting, the seller has made no mention of it being from a combination of materials, which looks disingenuous on their part.

 

Agree. And browse through ebay.co.uk Completed listings to see what similars have been on offer and what prices they've realized.
