The link below is to the "Library of Congress" website. It is an interesting read and does reference "The John Church Company." https://www.loc.gov/collections/wor...tion:ohio|contributor:the+john+church+company
I'm not sure what you want to know about it? Here is a link to more information about the company. Looks like they were well known in their time: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Church_Company_Building Here is a current listing in abebooks. Be aware that asking price doesn't always equal a price that something can be sold at. (Wasn't sure if you were thinking of selling.) https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=10165243727&searchurl=tn=treble+clef+choir&sortby=17
Thanks for the info. I was just wondering about the history of the book and author since it seems very unique and am not able to find much about it online. A few of things I found was that George Root was a friend of Abraham Lincoln and sang at his funeral. A lot of the content was also original and was reported to be an influence on the development of American music. I did not verify the sources of this info so I am not sure how reliable it is. Thanks again to all whom replied.
Welcome! This time please edit your photos to the full image option and then always do this for all your photos.
Here are some links with information on Root's coauthor, Daniel B. Towner. The first one is a sort of laudatory obituary from a music publication. They say that Towner was a student of Root's. https://books.google.com/books?id=Z...age&q="george f. root" "d. b. towner"&f=false https://www.wholesomewords.org/biography/btowner.html
