Bev aka thelmasstuff Colored pencil artist extraordinaire ;)

My parents had a second hand store and they both stretched the truth a little when it came to descriptions and/or provenance. Things I inherited from them are always a little suspicious. My mother had these framed prints as long as I can remember. She always said her older sister sold soap and got them as a premium for being a top seller. I now have them and thought very little of their value until a friend came over yesterday and oohed and aahed over them and the frames. They seem to be worth about $170-$200 for the pair online. Who knew. I always figured maximum of $20. If my kids don't want them, they're in the sell category. IMG_9227.JPG IMG_9226.JPG IMG_9228.JPG

Oh dear! This pair sold for only $40. (I would have thought the frames were worth more.)

General agreement that they are chromolithographs, but while other prints by Hallett & Co. can be found, I'm not finding specific information about the company.

    Interesting letter cover:

I heard Washington always posed in a way to not show off his nose as it was. Apparently he hated the shape of his nose.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

I like the FRAMES best in the smaller and older looking pair for C $104.05....there's a small metal piece of iron in each corner of the frames..........Regardless, find a GOOD Auction House, @Bev aka thelmasstuff ....hope you do well!!!!
