I picked up several cream spoons one of which is marked
"Pat. 77645 1835 R. Wallace" and according to a replacement site is the pattern "Rhythm" and is listed as Sterling. The design patent is dated as being issued 2/5/1929. I've acid tested the piece and it shows sterling however I could find no other markings to indicate same. My question is did they make sterling items with no mark? I'm so confused:banghead:.
I know the one on the left is marked sterling, the next is plate (sweet clover condensed milk made by N.S.F silver Co. 1877) the third was a cream top give away and the last is the R. Wallace one.

'1835 R. Wallace' is a silverplate mark, and no, they wouldn't have left your piece unmarked as sterling - the pattern is 'Mode'.

That's what I thought and for the life of me couldn't find that pattern. Thanks a bunch. BTW must be a heavy plate as I scratched down quite a way when I tested it and I didn't want to deface it to bad.
