    IMG_20200216_152000.jpg Hi all:
I'm wondering what year in the 1800s this Child's Magazine Hardcover is from. Publishing info is missing. Also, I'm not sure whose signatures / what's written inside. Thanks for any replies.

The part of the text included in your photo appears in this book from 1834 and apparently was written by a Mrs. Sherwood. I didn't compare the two versions word for word, but did see one word that is different in the two publications even though the story otherwise seems the same. So my guess is that your book may be from the same era, with a published story appearing in a magazine, either in whole or in part, or maybe as a serial? The book in the link below may possibly have more clues...

If the "37" in your book was originally "1837," I think that would fit republication of a story that appeared in another book in 1834.

Also, the book in my link (above) was itself a republication of Mrs. Sherwood's work. I didn't try to see if it said when different individual works were first published.

I was thinking perhaps volume 37 but 1837 is plausible.
