I picked this up at an estate sale yesterday. I like old engravings and pick them up when I see them, usually they don't cost much. The artist for this one is L.C. De Carmontelle and the engraver is Francois Denis Nee. I believe this must have been done while Franklin was still in France? It looks like maybe the Library of Congress has a copy. It seems to be in good condition, I will pull it out of the frame at some point. A lot of times they have been laid down. Looks like it was probably framed in the 50's-60's, since it has push points. I vaguely remember that frame shop being around when I was a kid. IMG_1722.jpg IMG_1723.jpg IMG_1724.jpg IMG_1725.jpg IMG_1726.jpg IMG_1727.jpg

You need to remove it from the frame NOW! That matte is ruining it.
