Can you take a picture of the underside of the legs and tell us how many boards make up the seat for each of the 2 chairs?

Seats enlarged 3X and sharpened: Of the two below, I think the top chair below is a bit older, or maybe had a different maker, and without seeing the bottoms, the seats don't appear, from the top images, to be more than one board each....TO ME....(also wondering if I'm seeing a new base - i.e. legs & stretcher on the bottom/fatter seated one)

If I'd seen them in my local thrift, I would have assumed early-mid-20th century but WDIK!
The seats don't appear to have much wear to the finish...

No expert on Windsor chairs but I do have a couple observations. These do look older and, at least the one on the right, seems to be a single board seat. I don't see 18th century but 19th century is possible. The legs are bamboo-turned. That doesn't necessarily imply great age but may help as a search term in finding similar. I don't see the wear and tear I would expect from very old chairs. Would say the verdict is still out on these. Looks like someone tried to put together a pair somewhat successfully. I like the chair on the right better and it is probably the older of the two.

The round less old looking one. Both chair were painted green at some point can see some left over green paint between wood gaps. The back of the seat is one price wood and pass light scratch test.

What is a scratch test for furniture?

If the wood aged oxidation is old. A light scratch would remove the top layer and look lighter color wood underneath. A stained age black brown color wouldn’t scratch off easy with a light scratch. .

Surely with all the wear you can see that it has age, and roughly what colour it is underneath, without any extra damage.
And you can't assess the age that way, because the measure of darkening of wood depends on many factors, including the type of wood.

I’d say that these are late 19th Century, maybe 1880s-90s. Not much wear and tear, as Verybrad noted.
