Featured 14L Amethyst? Brooch

    I've had this piece sitting for years in a junk box of stuff that was marked sterling or just costume jewelry. After giving everything a second/third/fourth look, much to my amazement, this brooch is marked 750!!!! There are some numbers on the other side that I don't recognize. Is there a way to tell if this is real amethyst? THANKS!

    A gem tester is the only way to be totally sure. A good expert can make a good guess just with their eyeballs, but not from a photo.

    at 750....I'd say amethyst ..is a good bet !
