Says incised Made In SPain adding the blue makers mark. All input is welcome. Initials under the Crown are like TG or JG. TIA 201_2336.JPG 201_2337.JPG 201_2339.jpg

I agree. El Prado is printed at the bottom of that logo - the Museo del Prado, the Spanish National Museum in Madrid. Wonder why the Prado logo is on this stature. The original Farnese Bull scupture is somewhere in Italy, Naples I think. Wonder if the scupture was once on an exhibiton tour to The Prado and while there the musuem shop sold souvenirs of it???

Thank you for the info. I am unsure as to how valid tho. The stamp on the figurine reads ARDO on the end for sure. But the Museum is called Prado on its official website. I am looking into it tho, since it is pretty close. do you have any idea about the stamp? do you have a reference image of one that is legible? Who is TG or JG in the stamp? the blue crown makes sense with the pardo as madrid would be the royal seat. please let me know more and thank you sooo much

Franco established a ceramic factory in El Pardo in 1943. It was part of his Fundación Generalísimo Franco which promoted "artistic industries" after the war. (The "TG" is actually "FG.") Franco died in 1975 so you have a rough date for your piece.

Tada... Very much appreciated information. I was checking on El Pardo but came up with nothing quick and then the other spelling Prado brought me misleading to the museum of madrid, which more misleadingly has a couple pieces of the farnese collection:)

I will google your recent info asap. Thank you very much so far....

Can i ask for an ballpark estimate regarding the value? Just if that doesnt violate board rules here. Thanks

You know... there is very little information about the Fundación on the internet (and I was searching on google.es.) I did see a few other pieces floating around though. Let me go back and see if I can find some on Spanish auction sites.

    Hasta pronto -

Here's yours recently auctioned in Spain but sale price not available.

    http://www.subastassegre.es/lote-dsp/porcelana-349/

And it's credited to Fundacíon de Gremios El Pardo which is part of the foundation established by Franco which provided an umbrella for factories involved in a number of different trades. The Farnese Bull was owned by the Spanish monarchs of Naples and the sculpture was first copied in porcelain in Spain in the 1700s. Yours would have been a luxury item in its time. Made for export. Very few Spaniards could have afforded.

    Hello Debora,
Thanks for your information. i saw that information is very rare around google. I understand that locals would have never been able to afford these kind of items while and after Franco. Maybe it was more of an intentional export movement to generate a positive "face" to allies and enemies at the time. Thank you so much for your time. I saw pieces in bisque, same size ranging around 200USD, sold in spain, with rather less popular motives. I will keep you updated with the link for ebay... If this is forum allows selling, i would love to hear some offers before ebaying it, in case there is interest.

Probably a high end tourist item.

I know a very dark Catalan joke about El Caudillo.
