Pulled some more things from the trunk for your consideration... First picture is service for twelve, pineapple cloth (whatever) that is. Second pic is what's in the M. Littwitz inc Madison Ave NY box. Says "12 new Damask Ecru napkins". Third pic is of a tablecloth that kind of matches it. Fourth through the seventh pics were all in the same clear bag. There were two complete services for twelve and 2 different Marghab labels in the bag as well as misc napkins in one pic. Not sure what is what though. That's for the experts. Last pic I just thought was pretty cool. Maybe arts & crafts of some amateur? Label "silkscreen on Linen". All of it is in really good condition due to my grandmothers OCD tendencies. God bless her. M. Littwitz Inc. at 801 Madison Avenue appears to have been an importer.

Congratulations! You do have a Marghab tablecloth (or placemats?) and napkins set. The pattern appears to be "Background" with "Open End" or "New" as the border pattern (according to Cynthia's Linen Room at http://www.antique-linens.com/marghabPatternList.html). EDIT: I just noticed when zooming in on your photo that "Background" is written on the attached Marghab card.

I also found a placemat/runner/napkin set on pinterest (originally listed on eBay.ie) with the same pattern as yours--also identified as "Background" by the seller.

If you sell on eBay (or know someone who could list things for you), that would probably be the best place to sell your linens.

I don't think any of your other linens are Marghab, but if they were mine, I'd list each set separately on eBay (the damask items together even though not exactly matching). EDiT: Or, if you have several different sets of cocktail napkins, you could sell those in a group or groupings.

I wouldn't have known exactly what pineapple cloth or piña fiber is if Debora hadn't provided the wikipedia link, which says it "was considered the queen of Philippine fabrics and is considered the fabric of choice of the Philippine elite." I searched online for pina fiber cloth, pineapple cloth, and didn't find anything close to your set shown in the first photo. It could be quite valuable to the right buyer.

The items in the fourth photo appear to be placemats with cross stitch folk embroidery--very attractive. I didn't find any exactly like them online, but it's probably not important to know where they're from or who embroidered them. The value is in the design, condition and quantity. Embroidered placemat sets do sell on eBay.

I couldn't find anything matching the cocktail napkins in the last photo, but because the designs are so unique and eye catching, they might be worth listing alone as a set. Vintage cocktail napkins seem to do well on eBay -- especially the more attractive and unusual they are.

Thank you for that info. Before, I was thinking of just dumping it all at the local goodwill. Now I kind of have a new appreciation for it. Might actually start using some of it.

Thank you very much for that. Think I like the one's in your pic better than mine.

Color does catch the eye, but your neutral color would work with a wider range of china patterns and colors.

Glad to hear you might start using some of your grandmother's linens--I suspect she would be pleased to know that you're enjoying them and appreciating her "OCD tendencies." P.S. If you ever need to wash and iron embroidered linens, be sure to iron them on the wrong side, with a towel underneath which keeps the embroidery from flattening out (I learned that from Martha Stewart).
