Antique tall flower vase or decorative urn,Beautiful gold roses on bottom of each vase.I believe both are ceramic. There's writing on the bottom but it's so faded,I can't make it out.Maybe some one can give a little information. 'Chalice' is another word I would use for them. Interesting looking pieces.

I'm not sure what that visit's not thick just a red stain maybe what ever it was used for. Both has been inside a show cabinet that I have.I just wipe dust off for pictures, it's not super clean. Both was really dusty with grime when I got them out of storage.I used a little dawn to clean them. But both will have to have another cleaning.

You might try some photos of the markings in various lights.

It's almost readable with the edits done on my phone.

Text looks upside down and mirrored. If you flip it and mess around with the colours, you get this

It almost looks like a print from something else, maybe a page from a book the chalice stood on at some stage?

If there was originally text done in silver overlay, what's left might be a light etch done to help the overlay adhere.
