steiff bear from 40's

Notice the details in Komo's photo.

 

I am a fashion dolly collector and along the way I have come across a fair few bears. I am no expert natch,I don't collect them but this really doesn't look like a Steiff,to me. Lots of bears have the spoon hands...the face looks off...a Steiff bear of that vintage would look like a bear,with a pointed face and shaved muzzle xx

I don't know, but I wouldn't rule OUT Steiff based on the muzzle alone...

This one is mine, from the mid-1950's. His name is Beary (yes, Beary!) and he does NOT have a shaved muzzle.

 

now ya no why i want to see the other one sitting up...
the body shape is similar..

 

Ok, here are the sitting photos. Debbie is looking for a letter that was with the bear describing the details.

 

The arms certainly look long enough and the top of the nose does look shaved.

I think these were common at the time because my mother had (and still has) one and I have seen it in antique shops from time to time. I’m not a bear/toy collector and only looked at the price out of curiosity because I recognized it as the one my mother has. The prices I have seen were in the $50-65 range.
