I don't see where there is any tension on the bands for these to be bolos..

I don’t have photos, and I don’t have the bolo things anymore. I’ve a vague feeling there was a clip, but don’t quote me on that. This was the eighties.

More likely belt slides. They were decorations for a narrow belt. Maybe a scarf if you can find one that fits through the holes.

ok, what are belt slides? Is that similar in a sense to a buckle?

no...it's the metal decoration on the belt and the way they slide on it...

@Marko Definitely post this brooch under the "jewelry" forum if you haven't yet. It reminds me so much of brooches that have been discussed recently and someone will likely ID (Flemish???). @Any Jewelry , @Dessert58 or @shamster I think someone in this group had similar or were discussing a very similar piece.

    Amazing find!!!

I stopped at a thrift while I was in Madison for an appointment and found this on a shelf priced $6.50. 20241015_174419.jpg 20241015_174724.jpg

Was so excited when I got home to get the chance to make sure it was what I thought. Herend! 3 1/2" tall, 5 1/2" long. No chips or damage, just lovely!

Wow!! What a nice find. I only know these because the local upscale jeweler keeps a permanent window display of an assortment.

That style of Herend figurine still sells handily, unlike most collectibles. I see them once in a while and they always sell.

IMG_0324.JPG IMG_0325.JPG IMG_0328.JPG IMG_0327.JPG The photos of goodies from past weeks. Finally got them off the camera. The kitty in the first pic is only about 4.5cm long, but she's 14k. They charged me $3. The buckle is silver, as is the rosary and one of the Mary medals. The other seems to be WWII, or at least military. The orange-ish bracelet is bakelite.

The rest is plated brass, but it's all signed Napier. Didn't know they made tableware? Neither did I. The sugar and creamer sets (got two) were done in 1935 and I"m unsure of the rest.

The bracelet is also sterling, marked Hollywood and hefty - over a full ounce of silver. The "expert" who runs estate sales sold it to me as costume. Nope. (LOL)

I already did. Not diamonds or CZ. My guess is sapphires.
