Those half-dolls were popular in the early 20th c, so I would guess pre-WW2.

Yes, and yes I thought they might be newer when I bought it (because of the fabric), but some of the half-doll collector articles said most were made between 1900-1920 and had examples of similar style so I really have no idea now.

I'd push it to 1930s bit, of course, I could be wrong.

I need to get a photo up later. Went to an estate/tag sale I wasn't planning to hit. It turns out this was a rerun, but I did get two finds: a NIP sheet for my bed and a nice sterling rosary. There was also a bit a souvenir treen from a USA site - Baker Caverns. It's nothing crazy and the cave obviously still exists, but it's not a public attraction any more. Pennsylvania, but way down south-west of Harrisburg.

Yes I meant paw. I'll blame it on brain malfunction due to covid/flu vaccine hangover. It hit me pretty hard Wednesday but all is good now.

Dug out these things and I have zero recollection of them ! Are they some sort of scarf slide ? They are 2 in long. No marks. I did notice in the sun they sparkle like crazy but under electric not so much. Ant thoughts ?

Lumii_20241012_182420976.jpg I am so far behind needing to sort, photograph, and tag jewelry....lots going on, all is well. I went to a little yearly flea market this morning (was up at 4 am), and found the find of the year. I was going through mostly modern costume jewelry and spied this box:

14k, other hallmarks I can't read on the pin stem, Google lens is showing Russian earrings, brooch has a C clasp. Victorian. And yes, the set was $6. I did find a few other goodies, some non-jewelry.

Ahhhh, there is an old saying that all seasoned collectors know.... relating to art & antiques..... as well as some other things.... that is...

If you happen upon something you like , buy it then and there... because afterwards, it may no longer be there.

The candlesticks... where gone today !:(

Well, the pin cushion part could be newer -- a replacement for the original one that probably looked worn, shabby or deteriorated.

Except there's another one to be found on the internet that's exactly the same.

I wish something like that would be free on my market place. I would have sent the husband in a truck stat.

Bear, do you have a photo somewhere to show how these would be worn on a bolo?
