something else i found while going through stuff

large 39 x 24 on thick quality card like paper

somebody had folded the bottom info part to fit into a frame

think i paid a fiver for it at local auction, and had to dispose of the frame at the auction house so i could get it on the bus rolled

haven't been able to find one alike

are these things considered collectable at all ?

thats 2 firbys who no longer talk for size comparison ;):)

Did you see one that sold for the Guggenheim Hermitage? I didn't. A museum branch for punters. (The entire exhibition only had 30 works.) I'm not sure who the customer would be.

2 very different looking buildings for sure, but i don't really get your point deb, if its the same organisation that produced the posters, and both to do with the same artist.

is there a hierarchy when it comes to art exhibition posters ?

Yes, of course, there's a hierarchy when it comes to art exhibition posters. The Solomon F. Guggenheim Museum is one of the world's leading modern and contemporary art museums. The Guggenheim Hermitage Museum was a little Las Vegas Strip art museum housed in the for-profit Venetian Resort hotel that was part of the not-always-successful Guggenheim Foundation's expansion into new markets. (Think Bilbao. Everyone stands outside and admires the building; no one goes in.) It catered to tourists and put on exhibitions of artists whose names they would recognize. The American Pop Icons exhibit doesn't even appear to have been a serious curatorial effort; only 30 works were exhibited.

And we don't know if the Warhol cars poster is desirable to collectors; that's an asking price, not a sold price.

i think your going into it a little deep to be honest, and don't quite understand the snobbery about it, but we'll leave it there
