Help ID zodiac bookends

    I was curious on if anyone might know the maker on these carved zodiac bookends? There some type of monogram or symbol on each one on the bottom right. Material reminds me of slate? Appear to be maybe mid century era judging by the style. Thank you for any info

    I have a hard time believing that whomever made those..... when finished....just scratched out the English names...wherever ......
    maybe those were added later by some.........jerk.

    the siggy in the bottom corner may be legit.......but is poorly placed and will be hard to identify.

    I'd like to smack the you know what out of the person who thought it was a good idea to scratch into them. The mark on the bottom looks like it was done with an electric engraving pen (hence the little dots next to each other) There could be a signature on the underside of the stone.
