Karlsbad serving plate with handles

This serving plate with handles appears to show the three graces and a shepherd(?). I have not seen a piece with this 4th character before. Does anyone have any thoughts about it?

 

It's 'The Judgment of Paris.'

 

The goddess of discord rolls a golden apple engraved 'To the Fairest' among the gods on Olympus. Hera, Athena & Aphrodite each think the apple is meant for them. There is a young shepherd of Troy, Paris (in the way of these things he's a prince, but doesn't know it yet) known for his fine discrimination in the way of feminine beauty, and the trio decide to put the case to him. Each tries to bribe him. Aphrodite promises him the most beautiful woman in the world, which is the offer he can't refuse, so the apple goes to the goddess of love.

Now, for the most beautiful woman in the world, her name is Helen, and she happens to be married already. Thus starts the Trojan war.

 

"Karlsbad" is of course only a marketing term; there were no factories or studios in Karlsbad itself (for obvious reasons).
