I'm just asking. I'm not insulting this Gallery.

I've bought in thrift shops "signed" Dali prints from a NY gallery that were obviously fakes (it't not West Park. This place was back in the 70s.) I love the melting clock, so for $5 I bought it for the print, not the double signature. I know Dali's signature is faked a lot.

West Park Gallery has a reputation. I just don't know if it's good or bad. Does anyone here have any info on them and their Dali's? When I see someone selling a signed print, I lean toward it being 20% real to 80% fake. It's the pessimist in me.

    THANK YOU!

You're more generous than I. I lean toward 1% real to 99% fake. Same with Miró and a few others.

RUN! West Park aka Park West I believe......many lawsuits. Also did the infamous cruise ship art sales. UGH!

Had no idea about these guys before now. But the world’s ‘largest art dealer’ and more than 3 million clients all looks and sounds very impressive. They must be doing something ‘right’ and have a great legal team :) if there’s all those lawsuits

3 million in captive cruise ship audiences! My parents went on a cruise this year and the first thing I told them was the gambling is rigged massively for the house and second, any art auction is absolutely a scam full of fake, worthless stuff. My mother laughed and said oh they already slipped a piece of paper under our door advertising their "art auction"! They're relentless! :greedy:

I try to avoid them. One gets on but can never get off when one wants.

He also signed a lot of blank papers. Great for the fakes industry.

Right now you couldn't pay me to take a cruise, those ships are floating petri dishes!

I went on one was a child with my parents and have an absolutely zero percent desire to go on one again. I find them so boring. A floating prison with the most sanitized and unexciting "entertainment" combined with trying to squeeze every dime out of your pocket on shopping trash. Then you get where you are going and get less than a day to "see" it and all you see is the tourist trap economy at the port. And for the locals, it's a complete eyesore and nuisance. Nope.

Some people love them and that's fine. All-inclusive and no need to worry about where you're going or make major decisions on food or fun. Disconnecting and chilling is a valid vacation. It's just not my ideal.

We were frequent cruisers (considering we live close to several ports) it was typically an easy vacation. Having already been to the ports, we normally stopped getting off the ship, which is extremely nice & quiet. We don't eat at the buffets, we stick to the restaurants. We haven’t been in quite a while, my adult kids love them the last one we went on we went as a family with our Grandkids who were 3, 6 & 8, I hung out with them & had the best time with them. They had no interest in the camp part which was fine with me, every night they stayed in our room & we watched movies & yes fed them junk food. We have done all inclusive resorts which are along the same line as a cruise but at least you are on land & can explore. I still prefer Europe, which has so much more to offer.

My parents just did the Alaskan one and they loved it. They did more off-ship stuff though and thought that was the most fun. I have friends and family who enjoy them and a friend who works on the development of new ships. I do think it's appealing to pay one (in theory!) fee and then let someone else drive, as it were. Not have to go far for your food/entertainment, etc. But I've never gotten to go to Europe so exploring the land is way more pressing for me than the boat! :playful:

Our son lives there, as do my Grandchildren so it will always be my favorite place. But yes it is also my favorite place to explore, I love the history & the food & shopping is usually very nice as well. I go where ever the adult kids decide, besides I am the built in baby sitter! But I happily stay with them, especially since I go to bed at the same time they do!

They enjoy the built in Nanny when I am there (that is what my son calls it) I will never let them know the joy it brings me!
