Thoughts on nude painting with 3D painted chain & pearl

    I found this last week at a thrift store - the nude made me pick it up & look at it, but it was the pallet style painted gold chain & a drop of white for a pearl that made me buy it; ot was unlike any I've seen before.

    Any thoughts on the painting?
    Any idea who the artist could be?

    I would say it looks like an amateur artist who might have been more comfortable at the time with drawing rather than painting. There's a tighness to the strokes and the way the forms and layers are done which you commonly see at an earlier stage of learning.

    The necklace looks like it was done with a squeeze bottle.

    Interesting with the pearl and all. But overall not very good (I think) I wonder if it’s not his wife.

    Could be. It has the look of drawings done from photograph (which could be personal...or not... :D).

    ...and she's not liking what she's seeing!
