Found this at one of my local thrifts today. It is 21" wide and 8" tall.
I just am amazed at the condition of the case. only a couple small chips, otherwise in near perfect condition. It has no key so I don't know how much of it actually works.
Is this MCM or maybe earlier/later.
After a little haggling I got it for $18.00 USD

Looks like late Deco and in crazy good condition, just beautiful! Any clock shop could provide winding key. Oh, and an excellent deal, assuming it works.

I did think Deco at first. Those curves!!
The clock face has a long crack also. I assume it is wood also.
Thanks @Ghopper1924 I appreciate your comments

I have several old clocks, the keys I have work in all of them. If you have a clock key, give it a try :)

"Made in Germany." Can't be MCM.

I believe “made in Germany” was 1887-1949. 1940s = late Deco, but also mid-Century.

As late as that. Thank you for the correction.

@Marie Forjan I have several other clocks and tried four keys with not one fitting.
To me this looks more Deco than MCM, but that is just me.
Another small question. What type of wood is this if anyone might know.

I wanted to say "ditto on Deco", but I'm too late for that.
    So yes, Art Deco.:)

Made in Germany CAN be MCM, although this isn't. Whilst the DDR invariably used DDR or ocasionally East/Eastern Germany as a marking, West German items can be simply marked (made in) Germany. I've had a fair few, incuding Rosenthal. Seems to be more common on 70s and after stuff, when the political climate for reunification took traction. The DDR was deeply proud of being in the Soviet bloc so made sure items were unmistakeable. West Germans wanted the rest of their country back.
