I've just recovered these from a clearance, the male occupant was 90 and has had to go into a retirement home.

His wife who was a fashion designer and dressmaker died over 50 years ago.
All her stuff was left in the house.

The house looked like the 60's.

One upstairs bedroom had an annex, and it was stuffed with fabrics, patterns and student / college projects.

Sadly lots of it was damaged due to mice infestation and moths, some plastic folders had just perished into a sticky goo.

I managed to retrieve and save these.

I'm assuming they are from the 50's or early 60's, what would I call these, if I was selling them ?

Hat Pins 20's & 30's, the top two which resemble swords are sterling silver but have tarnished black.

    Decorations of the 20's, 30's,
The adhesive for these has dried out and they are loose on the card.

I'm not sure "haberdashery" is a commonly understood word. Let's see what others think.

Wow he must have really loved her to have kept it like that. She could have never imagined her careful projects would someday be enjoyed by others on an internet!

It's too bad about the moths, mice and goo. (wahhhhh!) The hat pins look like the 20s (swords) and then 1950s. The button dates seem dead bang though. It's a crying shame you couldn't save the patterns. Old dress patterns can sell for $$$ if they're uncut.

I have a box full of patterns at my lock-up not related to this lot.
I might have to dig them out and investigate.
I think @Bookahtoo is into buttons.

I'm mainly only into buttons I can use, but we joolies know odds and ends about pieces like that.

Reinactors and vinties sometimes use the old patterns. Collectors just collect them.

Haberdashery is a good search term in the U.K.

I bet those two silver pins are Charles Horner.

I'm going to clean them up with some ammonia on a cotton bud and see if I can get the maker.
