Featured Meissen 18th century teapot and cup

Hello everyone!

I need help dating a teapot and a cup with a saucer. I believe it could be Meissen from the 18th century. There is an 'R' visible on the teapot in the porcelain, but the rest is unfortunately erased. The cup has the Meissen mark, but the saucer does not. Perhaps someone has information regarding the year of the item? Sincerely

 

Maybe try an good auction house and send them the photos. Sotheby's, Bonham's etc. I don't know anywhere near enough to say one way or another, but I will say it does look worth investigating for sure.

 

Are you sure that's a saucer? It doesn't appear to designed to pair with the cup.

If Wikipedia is to be believed, cup indentations on saucers were introduced in the mid-18th century.
And I have New Hall sets from the 1810s whose saucers don't have cup indentations.

 

This just doesn't look right. But then again, example below of what's supposed to be a Meissen quatrefoil-shaped saucer like OPs.

Ive always wondered if it were possible to get the gilding repaired ? These are pretty but the wear makes them a little shabby looking. Obviously they were used and loved BUT...

 

I expect you could, if you could find someone to do it, and it would cost a great deal of money. However, if these pieces are 18th c, then you would leave it as is.

 

They look high quality and early pieces I feel that you should get an expert to look at them.
