Fluorite comes in purple too, and that definitely wouldn't test in the quartz range.

Someone sent their owl collection to the GW so I picked them up for some cheap fun fall/Halloween decor. :vamp:

Mexican inlaid, Mexican onyx, Waterford crystal and an '82 Steuben crystal named "Wisdom" whooo might be my fav. He cost $100 in '82 so a rather expensive birb.

Steuben birdie for the win! I LOVE it when they miss some and one of us actually finds something. Around here i've honestly given up. If they have anything that makes my nose twitch, it's damaged. I'm glad you hit a lick.

He was 2 whole bucks! I do hit on things occasionally with mine. Lots of rich and upper-middle folk for this one and the sorters aren't going to recognize everything. Or else they don't feel like packing it up to the central online location an hour away. Figures, glass, art, lesser-known designers...the kinds of things that you have to know to spot the good from the cheap, and they get too much to check everything.

That's the way. My area is a mixed bag, but I think all of the really good stuff goes to another town, or did when there was any. It's a town I can't get into medically speaking. But yes, you have to know more than they do and hope they get lazy.

That's how they get you...the hunt. But I guess I'll never know the hunting grounds y'all had in the good times!

I didn't know how good I had it until it started drying up. THe Happy Hunting Grounds have become something more akin to desert with an occasional oasis and an inch of rain a year.

This isn't either, it's in the garnet range though! Just retested it today.
