This brooch is missing two stones. The lady selling it says I can have it for $11. Could someone please tell me how hard it would be to match the stones. It's very pretty and caught my attention. brooch1.jpg brooch2.jpg

Is it marked in any way? And what is your interest in it, given its damage?

Good ques from Debora. If resale, I think might not be worth it to find the perfect match. If for your own use and you could live with a close replacement, maybe.

But had a question from the photos. Wondering if the stones are plastic. What I'm seeing in the larger group of 2 adjacent stones is almost a figure 8 pattern, as if they are poured together or something. Am I seeing that correctly?

What kind of material are the 'stones'? Some kind of plastic maybe?

    Edit: cross posted with Lucille.:shame:
If the 'stones' are plastic, it could have been a small production. I have never seen them before.

I just think it is very pretty. Looks like it had some markings inside but very worn.

This lady says they are turquoise. I do not know.

Hum... they surely are not turquoises:cyclops:
The simpliest way to mend it is to remove the remaining bead of the line and replace the 3 with pearls or rhinestones.:)

They look rather odd for turquoise. Besides, they are glued in.
