Camel/Horse Whip

    IMG_9036.jpg IMG_9018.jpg IMG_9036.jpg IMG_9038.jpg IMG_9037.jpg While in Italy, we saw an antique market on the side of the road. We picked up this Camel or Horse Whip. It has several interesting features, including the brass handle. Anyone got any information on where this might be from or age?

    I can only comment that if the item was intended to be used...... you wouldn't want all that Sharp metal on the handle......:(;);)

    Based on the combination of materials and design (the yarn looks like coarse goat hair; the beads look like wound glass beads from India; the combination of brass and leatherwork), I suspect it is from somewhere in Central Asia, like one of the "Stans" - Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, etc.
