It's a long shot but it's possible that someone could help me identify who made this 8" x 6.5" jar: V. Harrison.

I found it at an estate sale in Portland, Oregon.

    Thank you for any help!

I wonder if it was supposed to go to V. Harrison, who didn't want it. Beautiful glaze, but it looks recent and like stuff coming out of Vietnam and China.

ya....could be .....but I'd still pick it up for the color and shape alone !

I have one like it somewhere. It's marked Japan on a foil label with Asian characters. I was told it is Tenmoku and the glaze is blue hare's fur.

That sticker is coming up as having been made Toyo Toki, a Japanese ceramics company.

The name looks like it was written on adhesive tape. That's why I think V Harrison was the original owner. Adhesive taped name was always the way to identify a vessel that was used at, for instance, a church social like a breakfast of luncheon. It assures that the lady who donated the flowers gets her vase returned after the event. I saw this same ID method on silver trays, cake plates, etc.

Yeah-- I think I was wrong to think that that was the person who made it.

    Thanks for the parallel info.
