    lloyd,

    Thanks for the better pics. I can't say I know the origin of this. I don't think it is Native American but could be wrong there. My gut reaction says Mexico or points further South. What is the white? Looks like some of it is missing in spots? ....... Or is it just that not every indent is colored in?

    yes not all colored four bigger sombreros and a bunch of little ones stuck on the outside and still in perfect condition , i guess the same mexico or further , the burning reminds me of the pots they use to fire in open ground kilns . look like something we would have made in art class in grade school but the burning makes me believe it is very old school
