I found two plates today that were 75% off of their marked price, so I paid a whole $1.50 plus tax. They appear to be at least partially hand-painted and the shield/beehive marks on the back seem hand-painted too. No other marks, impressed or otherwise. Roughly 8.5 inches in diameter. My guess would be that they date to 1890 or so. I bought them for the butterflies in the center, and to save them from some clueless yahoo putting them in the dishwasher.

Those are so lovely! Continental (Bohemia, Austria, Germany) and I would say you're pretty close on date. I'm leaning towards early 20th c.

I was thinking Germany/Austria/Bohemia too, but more likely Austria than Germany.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Nice colors and pattern. I would use those. And no dishwasher. :)
