Hi! Im Bob and new here. I thought I'd just ask and come straight to this section. :)

an aunt asked me to look at the pieces left by her husband, I identified most of the items but these,

I have no idea at all about jars, porcelains etc. tried google, it confuses me instead. lol

I just took some quick shots and I forgot the sizes perhaps about more than 1 foot. Her place is far so I cant take anymore photos.

2 white and blue jars one with men designs

    and

one with flowers and dragon with Philippine Museum tag (is it authentic?)

and another piece of gemstone perhaps? size about 4-5 inches

I hope you can enlighten me about these pieces. are these possible authentic pieces, what could be their possible age.

Thank you so much I would deeply appreciate any input.

    Regards

    - Bob

Kind of strange, though, Komo. The headdress looks like pottery to me - or does it look like paint over the same stone?

I was thinking mezo-American, myself. So all is wood, with paint and glued-in stones?

oh I will test that again once I get back to the place of my aunt. will try to look for any wooden part. I just held it for minute and I thought it was kind of marble or yeah stone because it is heavy. Thanks

Taupou is a Samoan cultural tradition, Professor. There was a fabulous exhibition here at the Cleveland Museum of Art.
