carl plückebaum (1880 - 1952). Does such a miniature have value? Is this the original?

Size 5x6.5 cm. Beautiful gold-colored metal frame.

Looks like a halftone print to me.

Looks like a piccy put in a cheap frame with badly cut cardboard !!

You need to take it out of the frame .... just in case :)

I would not say that the frame is cheap. And it's definitely not a photo. The paper is thin and not photo paper.[ 20240828_084732.jpg 20240828_084510.jpg 20240828_084538.jpg 20240828_084351.jpg

Definitely a halftone print, you can easily see the dots.

Thank you all for the interesting information. Please explain to me if this is the work of the author or if someone made a copy? Does this thing have any value?

5 members have said its a print /copy :arghh:

halftone process, in printing, a technique of breaking up an image into a series of dots so as to reproduce the full tone range of a photograph or tone art work.

But this halftone printing could also be done by the author. :)

Only if he was trained in screen-making and had a commercial printing press.

Or has applied the halftone manually from sheets on top of original inked art, but you're more likely to see that in Japanese (and Japenese-style) comic art. In that case the tones have a slight gloss to them and are easy to see.

It value is in its humor. ;)

The link I posted is of an etching, signed by the artist, and it went unsold.
