Found a sword in Lebanon

Hi guys, found this sword in Lebanon, any idea what it is/worth ?

Thanks, do you have any idea if the markings symbolize anything from the military or are they purely decorative? I've seen some swords with gold engravings go for $2,000+ on eBay

 

well the scabbard is roached...as is the handle ... and the blade is in bad shape..... so even with the inlay...... it's all in rough shape & I'm not seeing royalty or 2 grand..

others may see different...

It's a wootz shamshir with gilt decoration. It's a bit difficult to tell from the pictures, but it even appears to have kirk narduban pattern decoration in the blade. The condition of the hilt is far less important than the blade. Those terms should give you something to google, but yeah, 2 grand is not unreasonable.
