I think you have your album set to "private", so you are the only one who can see the pictures. You'll have to undo that if you want any comments, lol. Don't worry, you're not the first person to have done this.:joyful:

I would call that a buffet, not a hutch. My great-grandmother had something similar and she (and everyone else in the family) always called it "the buffet".
    It's very, very pretty. :)

Agree. A hutch has shelves above.

I do love it, but it doesn't fit well in my space. Thinking of selling it, but would like to know more about it before I do.

Id guess 1900,give or take a few years. Very pretty piece. The market for brown furniture is improving, but slowly . Here in N Fl Id ask $200 and take the best offer.

Do you still have the missing keyhole cover?

Agree with a circa 1900 date (Leaning toward early 20th century). Not American. Could be either English or Continental. Mix of styles. Sort of Georgian with queen Anne legs. Hardware is more arts and crafts, bordering on art nouveau. Wood appears to be walnut. I don't know where you are but Johnny's value is pretty spot-on for here in the US. Maybe a bit more in or near a big city and less in Major Podunkville. Not having the escutcheon will hurt value, as it would be impossible to replace.

Thanks! Maybe I'm better at this than I thought... I was thinking listing it at $225.

No, this is how I bought it.

Very interesting! And curious... I never knew one piece of furniture could have so many different styles. This came from a little store in Austin, Texas. We bought several, what I considered, unique pieces. Thank you!

Just wanted to update and thank everyone who offered information. I actually found the missing escutcheon and handle in the back of the cubby. I must have put it there when I bought it and forgot about it. Listed it for $225 and sold it almost immediately for $220--and that's only because I didn't have change. Had a tear in my eye as I watched it being loaded onto the truck; but happy to have found someone who seems to love it as much as I do. Thanks, again!

Congrats! Whenever I have to let go of a piece I once loved, I try to think about how happy the new owner probably is, and I feel really good about the exchange. With how fast you sold it, you definitely made someone very happy.

It’s very typical of English Edwardian sideboards.
