    Good Afternoon,

I have been given this piece, looks like an antique incense burner. However, I'm not highly familiar in this field.

Can someone tell me what is it exactly? Look like Arab, Middle-Eastern from the Crescent sign. What material is it and what year approximately has it been made?

    Thank you,
    Brandon

I believe the first and second photos show the item properly, does it not?

Thank you so much for your help :) Now I know why it made it difficult for some to view the photos in full scale! Would appreciate people's help in gathering further information.

Maybe checking with a magnet would help to determine metal.

Likely to be brass and islamic and looks rather like other incense burners, yours looks more ornate though. Wait for others to give their opinion though as I'm not an expert.

    It’s a brazier, likely Turkish.

Yes, @Brandon Spiteri, they do, but you posted them as "thumbnails".....lots of members just use their cell phones, and some members have vision difficulties, so we always ask new members to be sure to remember to post their pictures as "FULL IMAGES" just before creating their post!! Thanks for understanding!!

Also size of an item helps us to identify it. Here’s a similar brazier.

    Thank you @anundverkaufen and @Houseful.

Your answers were of big help. So it's a brazier not an incense burner. I was unaware of that in the first place.

Apparently, it was used in the past for cooking food or heating homes (google searched this).

Thank you as well for your warm welcome in the forum. People here are so knowledgeable and is so much to learn from other posts.
