Hi all, this looks to me like an original engraving page thinking from his ‘Scenes of Good Hope in 1741’ or maybe part of his ‘Africa UND OST- Indien-1744’ work. Not sure what the Kennedy H. 118 stands for? (maybe the owner when it was framed? and order number?) The frame size is 46x42cm. The page size is about 33cm x 30 (something) I will probably need to take it out of the frame. Foxing issue needs to be sorted out. Also looks like it was folded. Thanks for any comments
Always nice to find an antique engraving page related to local history. It was folded inside the book.
It may refer to R. F. Kennedy and his Catalog of Pictures in the Africana Museum. H would be the volume, 118 the page number. Debora
