Not me alas. Don't I wish! It's been bone dry here for jewelry, and I'd bet it's not a lot better elsewhere unless you're buying in bulk and as a private deal. Resellers and antique collectors are HUNGRY out there and you have to get there an hour early to get anything at all.

Oddly my favorite piece was the starfish, the newest of the lot.

I’ve a real soft spot for Ganesha. I was lucky enough to be invited to join in one of the local maharashtran processions for him a few years back. The wonderful figure ended up in the Thames.

My find of the day was a dirt-plain curb chain. It just happens to be 14k gold. The charity thrift priced it based on the costume pendant. 10-11g for $7.50. Oops!

Tomorrow is going to be a washout thanks to the hurricane remnants and the dentist. It's probably better than I'd do at an antique sale I found in the paper, if the sale weren't at 9AM and highway driving away.

I fell in love with this little bag as soon as I saw it so just had to have it! It's in really good condition and I just love the subject matter and the colours.

Don't let Bear see that; she turns into Smaug and wants all the bags in her hoard.

I've got a few finds to post here now, but for today here is my most recent find.

A mid century inverse flow celadon teapot, complete with box with bone handles, vegetation motifs, and a foo dog with teefs!

In fantastic condition apart from the smashed and repaired handle. It doesn't look like its been used, other examples online have brown staining around the mouth.

For 5 euros it'll be a cool research piece and then a gift to my sister.

those boxes speak to me of the 1980's.....give or take...
Nixon's 1972 visit to China unleashed a massive flow of Chinese goods into the USA.

Here are a few highlights of my finds from the past few weeks. Thrift store pickings have been kind of slim. Have a couple of good finds from other sources.

This etched vase appears to be Tiffin. Saw someone say the flowers were fuchsia. Not to my eye. Thrift store find for $4.00.

This sterling clothes brush was with a few other brushes in a bag at the thrift for $7.00. It was the only one worth any real money but I might make my money back off the others, making this one free (?).

This set of 4 Libbey, Silverleaf tumblers was $1.00.

Internet consensus is that this is Navajo based on other items found with the same WMT marking. No one seems to know the artist. Any ideas? Bought for $6.00.

This dolphins paperweight was $3.00. I can find one other, without attribution. I am thinking probably Chinese.
    thriftglass75.jpg

This is the second Alladdin lamp I have found in thrift stores this year. This one has the original chimney but I did not get it photographed. Was $7.00.

This modernist sterling bracelet was $3.00. Has a mark I can not attribute so will post on jewelry board.

    Nice stuff Brad.
Here those glasses would be $20 for 4 or maybe more at my local thrift.

This is likely Murano based on similar others posted before. Bought for $3.00.

Bought this off ebay for $20.00 (shipping and tax brought it in right at $45.00). Large approx. 16" x 16" copper coal bucket (?) by WMF. Seller had no clue but I recognized it. It is marked. Some minor dents that are going to be harder to knock out than I thought. Copper is quite heavy guage.

Maybe the best find. Pair of large Ozark roadside tourist pottery vases. Both just over 11" tall. Found locally and, given a good deal by a dealer/friend, for $100.00 for the pair. The glaze pattern on the one on the right is quite unusual.
