We finally received this last night here at Casa Ghopper. We love her of course - we've named her "Halcyon" as a reference to time, especially good times!- but are pondering placement. So we turn to you, our antiquing friends.

The piece is over 6 feet tall, so placement is of primary importance and options are rather limited. Does this spot seem right? There are several others, but at over 100 pounds of bronze we don't move her casually.

Does she overwhelm? Fit right in? Should we get our money back? :)

"I agree with Debora." My favorite words in the English language.

I think she looks great there. Only hesitation would be if you are opening and closing the window curtains from that side, but maybe could still work.

What a beautiful space you have!

    Good point @Lucille.b !

We usually just keep the curtains/sheers closed, lest everything be bleached by the morning sun, so no heartburn there.

And thanks for the lovely words!

    She's not in anyones way
She has her clock friends near by
The curtains, while heavy at the top , provide a nice backdrop to her presence , so she stands out, but doesn't overpower her space.

& I'm willing to bet that when next you have friends drop by , at least one will blurt out... " oh, we didn't know you already had company ! "

Move her back just a tad 1/2” and twist to the left 2 degrees. There now perfection.

FULL DISCLOSURE: Most people find my decorative skills better off ignored. :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

She’s gorgeous and appears place to capture many happy and peaceful moments.

She reminds me of the lady on my greatgrandparents' stairs who fascinated me as a child. But she was painted white and had no clock. I have often wondered what happened to her after they died in the 50's.

Beautiful! Is she considered a mystery clock?

She is considered to be a swinger, in the clock sense of course. :)
The clock is within the top sphere, with the bottom sphere as a counterweight. The movement within the top sphere propels the pendulum.

Mystery clocks are another beast, although they also involve a statue and pendulum. With them, there is typically a clock in the statue’s base, and the circular motion of the pendulum above drives the clock. They are usually very expensive and temperamental.

Ghopper's got a swinger in the house, and he admits to it! She won't be going out and joining any clubs though, not without an assist and a hand truck.

What a fabulous piece ! She looks fine there BUT I think she'd be better served to have a place where she is the main draw .Like on a stair landing or in an alcove .I never get tired of shots of your lovely, lovely home .

Thanks @johnnycb09 , your words are golden, as are the sentiments of all of these well-wishers!
We often seem to think alike, and this is no exception. The stair landing was a top choice, but it is simply not wide enough to traverse without hitting her arm. But good thinking on your part!

    Love all of you!!

You should get a photo spread in a magazine for lovely home abodes.
