Unfortunately these days real wood block tends to sell for peanuts too. Dagnabbit, but at least we fans can get them cheaply.

wow just caught up on this thread.
    What wonderful finds everyone.
Hand over the crab pendant, the seed pearl necklace and the alligator in the box and no one will get hurt. I am pretty sure one of my brothers had that same gator.
Congrats on the great finds all.

I’m guessing vintage vs antique with this find but I loved the little details on the MOP. It looks a little rough in the overall impression and I don’t know anything about it (can’t figure out who MD is/was) however I love the weight and am very excited to wear it and add to my collection. F8F50C12-62D2-4250-A222-32F25AFEDCF4.jpeg CD4CAD1C-372C-4920-87A1-BCD8E16A22F5.jpeg

I went out hunting today, and for once I also went out finding. First stop turned out to be a re-stop. Spent $2 on not a lot ... and realized as I was grabbing it in a garage that it was surrounded by mouse poop. (ecch) The second stop: dry hole. I was there before the scheduled start and there was nothing out yet. I also realized they'd just had another sale. The car never came out of gear. Off I went to an advertised estate sale. It turned out to be run by a church group; a lady had gone into assisted living and the husband was selling up. He donated the money to the church provided they ran the sale.

Paydirt. They had fabric and yarn for $10/bag and they weren't small bags. I stuffed one with quilt fabric, most of which is headed to a local quilt group. Then I hit a big candlestick - they told me to put a price on it and I asked "$5"? Accepted. It's solid sterling, not weighted. I also landed a pipe tool marked "Hand Made Sterling" and a .999 silver commemorative coin. I wasn't even sure of that myself - when they said "Some of these are real silver" I said "don't I wish". Got my wish....but it's some corporate thing headed straight to melt. That bowl is Gorham. There's about a pound of silver in the picture, and a full pound with the coin. On the way back, I spent $15 in a food bank thrift store on jewelry including some "pearl" earrings I have to test ... and on the way out of there got to a tag sale that just started and was hidden up a goat track of a street. Had the devil's own time getting back OUT. Gave the lady more than she asked for; she sold me a sterling baby cup (engraved unfortunately), mate spoon (damaged) and baby spoon for $7 the lot.

Also at the estate sale were some other bits, including a little spelter lion, some French painted metal figures, and some other bits. Also a few other pieces not in the picture.

I found this bronze clothes hanger in a salvation army store last week. No idea where or when it's from.

A commemorative Empire picture frame for someone’s dear “Moe”. I’ll find a way to buff out the name and numbers. Loved the design and fell for the price. 8DEF374E-6EB5-4D46-A059-95719F091A06.jpeg A19BFB92-1F2B-46D4-9877-9E47686015A2.jpeg

Good going Peggy. I have to start looking for that stuff if it is dated as vintage.
I just naturally don't look b/c it mostly does not appeal to me, but if it sells for lots of dough, it could grow on me for sure.

I did see the creamer sold for $55.00 recently. The problem is I wouldn't know how to date it if selling on Etsy.

Peggy, some of the items are actually marked on the bottom with a date. But most are not I think. There is a shopping channel that sells this stuff and it is so expensive.
I hope your finds do well.

My most recent purchases have been an artbook with poetry from 1916 Vienna (lovely Vienna secession style) and 4 1910-ish issues of the Munich satirical magazine "Simplicissimus"
