Hi everybody, I recently purchased this old "Lunchtime" honey tin produced in Melbourne Australia, but have not been able to find any information on it. Can anyone please be of any assistance? Thank you for your time,

Lunchtime Honey was the retail brand of honey sold by Captain Distributing P/L, a company owned by my father Lloyd Freeman and his brother Murray. They operated out of Islington St Collingwood and later from Weston St Brunswick. The company operated from the 50's until the mid-seventies when sold to an English company Unigate (not Unilever). They bought honey mainly from beekeepers in Gippsland and blended it to come up with that sold as Yellow Box. They also exported bulk honey to USA and Japan. They exhibited every year at the Melbourne Show and Honey Week, on the lower floor of the Melbourne Town Hall in April school holiday (I think).

Welcome, John. It's always nice & usually informative when someone comes along with a personal connection to a posted item. Honey Week sounds sweet.

Hi John, I know it's been awhile since you posted this, but I hope you see it, you may be the only one that can help. I have an old Lunchtime Brand honey tin. It is a 3kg tin so going by your stated years of operation, I am guessing late 60's to early 70's. I cannot find another one like it. I can find the yellow ones like posted above, but no where can I find this one. This is my first time using a forum so I'm going to try and upload some photos. If you could be any help with this I would really appreciate it. I found it here on the farm where my husband is an 8th generation farmer. Thanks in advance, Angie
