It's ~4 1/2" diameter an' height; it weighs ~16 oz. Its capacity might be not quite a pint. The exterior glaze is very smooth an' of uniform color; the interior is white, an' fully glazed. The only mark is 2628, impressed, on the bottom, which is lightly ground to remove excess glaze. It seems English to me, but I can't support that assumption except as a hunch. I've had it long enough to have completely forgotten any acquisition details.

Where an' when was it made, please...an' what liquid was it designed to dispense? Thanks for lookin'!

Not English, imo. That number style is Austrian or German. Looks like wine or gluhwein I reckon. Not a shape used here for any liquid I can think of.

Just an idea... early Roseville Pottery lines like Rozane, Owens Pottery and Rookwood used impressed numbers on their wares. First two, did have a line of standard ware brown glaze. Rookwood, I don't think glazed the underside.

With those impressed numbers and sanded off glaze on the base makes me think Belgian. Could be for wine as lying on the side does make me think it's some sort of decanter. But those are just my thoughts looking at it.
