What uniform is this?

    I bought a huge collection of glass plate negatives earlier in the week and I’m trying to get a feel for their date.

    I spent an enjoyable few hours converting them to positives today and conclude that they are Italian .

    Several include this dapper officer. Can anyone suggest a date and rank for this uniform please?

    I’ve added a few more that I’ve converted.

    I wondered about him too....but the dimple in that chin is so heavily pronounced that...................???:confused:
