Need help on a knife

Hello All,

I found this knife in local estate sale.

It has no mark on it and the handle is missing. I like the Metal Sheath

anyone could tell me its origin? Any collectable value for restoration?

Nice enuf dagger blade....but no markings.....????..no way to know the metal.
It's a sheath I am unfamiliar with and I don't like the square end metal holes for hanging.....
No military imo...
Looks like the tang is distressed so the handle must have broken off.... imo..

do you this one is authentic? there is no mark on the surface. Also, I wonder if the handle can find a replacement.

 

an authentic replacement handle.......... that's could take a while..... and require a diligent search.

When they found themselves alone in a dangerous situation perhaps? They worked close to the front, and with POWs.

 

I think daggers were just part of the standard uniform paraphernalia. I know they were issued for customs officers.

 

I asked my DIL to ask her mother. It was standard issue during her quote “that time”. Scary to kids for sure.
