I found this in a box at my grandmothers. I believe it might be an old Chinese opium box from the late 1800’s due to its “china” hallmark that predates 1920.
Not quite sure can anyone tell me if I am correct?

First u have to know what it is...
I think likely a tea caddy.
Next we need to see the China mark
& we need to know what size it is..
3rd , we have no idea where in the world you are, so how could we suggest an appraiser.... unless you're thinking of an online appraiser.
4th....... appraisers cost money.....possibly more than this item is currently worth.

    Help us......to help you !!

If it is te right size, yes, a tea caddy. Not cloisonné, as the seller says, but regular enamel.
The 'CHINA' mark means it was made for export.
Still helps to know the size to know if it really is a tea caddy. For instance, if it is small it could be a tooth pick holder.;)
I suspect it is ca 1900, but a photo of the mark helps determine the period.
