Welcome Sandygal - From this distance it's rather difficult to see the detail. It looks like parts of it may be grey cut and parts fully cut. If so, it may be newer than ABP. It looks like it may be perched on top of the base of another vase. This is a bit confusing as we can't see the shape of the base. A bottom shot is also helpful to include.

yes--the lighter photos are a bit better, but it would help to have some closeups of the pattern--maybe outside in bright natural light.;)

This is just an opinion, but this vase doesn't appear to be from the American Brilliant period. It looks like what I've been told is cut glass that is either Eastern European or Russian. Cut glass is usually hard to ID, at least for me anyway.

You've been quite patient with us, Sandygal. Thank you for not getting discouraged by our requests. I'm sorry we're running you through so many photos but as ola stated cut glass is quite difficult to evaluate especially without a hands-on examination. Sometimes I can spot a quality item from all the way across an antique mall but other times I have to turn a piece over in my hands several times before I can form an opinion.

The photo that you took where you tilted the top with sunlight behind it seems to show areas that are grey cut to me. Grey cut are areas where the pattern has not been fully cut. You can see the difference between the hobstar panels and the button panels next to them. Usually this is an indication of newer glass imported from Eastern Europe. My understanding is that making cut glass in this newer manner helps cut down on import duties.

"Cut down on import duties?" How?

I thought I had picked up somewhere that a fully cut vase fell into one category but a partially cut vase fell into another. Import duties are really not my area though so I could be wrong.
