I'm thinking this pre dates the corruption of the symbol. It measures 3 5/8 inches long.

Only thing that I could think of is maybe some type of grave marker.

It's the counter clockwise symbol (in Hinduism called sauvastika), while the Nazis used the clockwise version (swastika)
Various meanings of both symbols can be found on wiki:

The other way around.;) The Nazis used the counter-clockwise Swastika, which is used in several traditions to lead to a quick result, which is exactly what they wanted. They also rested it on an 'elbow', instead of the flat side of the 'arm'.
Regarding clockwise and counter-clockwise, think of the swastika as a whirlpool. So the 'arms' go with the flow (whether left turning or right turning).

Swastika is a Sanskrit word, so Indian, and it is safe to use imo. Asian Swastikas are depicted both clockwise and counter-clockwise, often together, for balance.

The German word is Hakenkreuz. That is the word with the nasty connotation, although it was around long before the Nazis abused it.

Wiki sees this 卐 as clockwise
    Maybe based on this idea

A Swastika is actually a swirl, so the toes in that picture follow the knees, not the other way around.
Wiki relies on its contributors, and many of them are very good. But in this case someone with some basic knowledge of Shamanism would be helpful. (My specialty in theology was Shamanism.)
