Featured Painted floral pot

    got this and about 3 large bag fulls at a local auction closing down free for all
    the owner fled owing his customers money, and all the valuables left

    so they needed the placed cleared, so anything was free to grab

    this flower pot ?, is nicely painted, but free of any marks

    any thoughts or info appreciated

    I can only guess, I have several pieces my moms Aunt painted with China paint decoration it was a popular ladies activity, I’m not sure the exact dates but for hers early 1920 or around there, but your date may be entirely different or not that at all.     Could be early Derby with those marks on the base. Looks like it may have had a lid. Certainly early 19th c

    Yes, looks like there's a rim for a lid to rest on. Possibly a pot pourri lid? Possibly Coalport as they made many mugs (often used a gifts for marriages and births; names and dates were written in gilding) which were unmarked. I would say anytime 1840 onwards.
