Featured Iron decorated wood chest

    Good Evening
    I found this very rustic wooden chest today. It is decorated with iron sheet and nails. Any idea where it may be from and how old it is. It is oak or some other hardwood.

    Some other hardwood. Possibly from India or points a bit further east. May not be as old as it appears to be. Looks like it has spent some time outdoors :(

    I think it may actually be teak. Also think not too old but a nice project to turn into something nice.

    ...measured perhaps in years!
    I note the 'latch' feature appears to be newer, secured by slot-head screws, an' of somewhat thicker material.
    Nice project, though. It'll reward effort!
